Anita Ruiz

Anita M. Ruiz, of Lovington, passed away on March 14, 2022 in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 70. A funeral mass in her honor will be held on April 22, 2022 at 11am at St. Helena Catholic Church. Family and friends are welcome at Griffin Funeral Home of Thursday, April 21 from 12-7pm, with an evening service to be conducted at 6pm.

Anita was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She loved her children and her grandchildren and would move mountains for them. Anita also loved music, dancing and singing to her Tejano music at every opportunity. She was the cornerstone on which her family depended and her loving support will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Delores, husband Marsial Ruiz Sr., sons Sammy Ruiz and Georgie Ruiz and siblings Mary Alvarado, Yolanda Melendrez, Rudy Melendrez, and Ruben Melendrez.

Left to remember her always are her children Marsial Ruiz Jr. (Cristal) and Nancy Ruiz, sisters Lena Saiz and Sylvia Melendrez as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
