Vanessa Najera

It is with great gratitude we celebrate the life of Vanessa Marie Najera, 29, of Hobbs New Mexico, and with the same gratitude that we share that she entered a heavenly rest on November 19, 2022.

Born on February 12, 1993, in Hobbs, NM, Vanessa was a lifelong resident of Hobbs and leaves behind three beautiful daughters, Aniaha Leigh Najera-13, Amiaha Marie Najera-6 and Ariaha Bree Najera-4, all of Hobbs. She is survived by her mother, Belinda Campos (Eliseo Lopez Jr.), two brothers, Nathaniel Rey Najera, Mario Eloy Najera and a sister, Helen Alexandra Najera all of Hobbs. She is also survived by her maternal grandparents George and Molly Campos of Hobbs, her uncle George Campos Jr. (Tanya), her aunt Monica Campos-Rogo (Sal), and her uncle Edward Campos, all of Hobbs. She is also survived by her paternal grandfather, Manuel Najera of Texas, uncle Robert Gonzalez (Mary) of Hobbs, and her aunt Debbie Luera (Charlie) of Lubbock, TX. Vanessa is also survived by 7 nephews, 2 nieces, numerous other aunts and uncles, and a host of cousins. She is also survived by a special friend, Carlos Perez.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her father, Pedro (Pete) Luna Najera, and her paternal grandmother, Helen Najera.

Vanessa was a homemaker for the most part of her life, however she worked several jobs in customer service and always did everything to the best of her ability. She was a hard worker who enjoyed heavy lifting, there was no one quite as strong as she was. She enjoyed cleaning and decorating her home, always rearranging things and buying new stuff to decorate with. Vanessa enjoyed music and movies and bonding with her daughters over lyrics to special songs and enjoyed cuddles and snacks with her girls while watching movies. Vanessa was a big giver and would always give, even if it was the last that she had.

Most importantly, Vanessa loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She accepted him in her heart and because she did, we are certain in where Vanessa’s spirit now lives. We are confident that someday soon, we will be reunited with her again. In the bible, the apostle Paul tells us in Philippians 1:21, that “To live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Although it hurts that Vanessa’s life was taken way too soon, we are confident that when she breathed her last breath, it was in fact her best breath, because she met Jesus.

The family would like to thank the Lea County Sheriff’s Department, Pastors Dean, Kathy and Faith Shropshire as well as Pastors Greg and Charity Kalstrup. We would also like to thank the community of Hobbs and Lea County and all the family and friends who have shown us love and care throughout this time. We thank you for your continuous prayers and generosity during this time as well.

Domestic Violence is unfortunately a very true epidemic in the society we live in. People affected by domestic violence may never speak or tell anyone about it, however in Vanessa’s honor we will see that her life is celebrated through the helping of others to escape that lifestyle.

We love you Vanessa and we will enjoy watching your legacy go on through your precious girls. We will miss you dearly mija, but we know that where you are, you are at rest, full of peace and joy and in that we find comfort.
