Adolfo Chavez

Adolfo F. Chavez Sr., of Hobbs, passed into the arms of angels on April 14, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born July 6, 1961 to Melchor and Margarita Chavez in Pecos, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 2pm at St. Helena Catholic Church, with a rosary to be held Tuesday at 7pm at Griffin Funeral Home. The family would like to invite their friends to come and pay respects and visit on Tuesday from 3pm until the rosary.
Adolfo was a man with a heart of gold, always willing to help those around him in any way he could. He always had a deep love for his family and supported them in all their endeavors. Even acting as the family babysitter, a job that he was more than happy to take on. Although Adolfo loved his four sons, the light of his world was his grandchildren, he loved the chance to help raise the little girls, something he didn't get a chance to do as a father. Weekends where he could cook for his family and watch the Sunday games were the highlights of his week, always rooting for the Cowboy's of course. Adolfo wasn't picky though, rooting for the Spurs or the Astros when it was basketball or baseball season, a true Texas fan through and through. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Pilar Chavez and Grandmother Barbara Fuentes.
Left to treasure all the memories are his beloved wife Criselda, sons Adolfo Chavez Jr (Michelle), Israel Chavez (Genevieve), Alfred Chavez (Crystal), and Isaac Chavez (Daniella) as well as his brother Victor Chavez and sisters Evangelina Lujan, Lourdes Matta, Socorro Martinez, Lorena Chavez and Elva Jaquez, 15 grandchildren and a host of other family, friends, numerous nieces and nephews as well as his cherished dog Daisy.
