Anatalio Nickles, 79, of Hobbs passed away on February 5, 2019. Anatalio was born July 27, 1939, in Candaleria, Texas to Alberto Nickles and Alejandra Lopez. One of seventeen siblings, he started working at a young age, helping with farming and mechanical work on the vehicles around him. At the age of 16, he married his beautiful wife, Ramona, with whom he shared a wonderful 64 years. Anatalio was a man of many passions; he loved to dance with his wife, garden, play music, sing and cook. He was known for his big Sunday breakfasts and his asado. Anatalio is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ramona; his parents; daughter, Barbara Velasques; son, Angel Nickles and siblings: Albino, Albert, Mercy and Mike Nickles.
Forever holding him in their hearts remains his children Bonnie (Armando) Juarez, Anatalio (Leticia) Nickles, Jr. and Alberto (Joylynne) Nickles; siblings: Pete, Lonnie, Angie, Becky, Johnny and Francis Nickles; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Anatalio will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be Monday, February 11, 2019 from 11-8pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm at Griffin Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jorge Varges La Rosa as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
