Anna J. Lane, 91, of Hobbs, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 in Hobbs. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 5, 2015 in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Chaplain Dennis Durfee, officiating.
Anna was born on July 15, 1924 in Oglesby, Oklahoma to Pearl and Minnie Johnson. She had lived in Hobbs since 1957. In 1960, she married Leo Lane in Carlsbad and they celebrated over 34 years of marriage until his death in 1994. Anna was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, an Ambassador with the Hobbs Chamber of Commerce and a member of several art clubs. She was a well-known artist and had paintings in the White House, the Governor's Mansion and many museums throughout the Southwest. In addition to her husband, Anna was also preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild.
Survivors include her son, Ross Clanton of Aztec, NM; grandchildren Riley Clanton of Hobbs and Cheryloy Clanton of Abilene, TX; great grandchildren, Thomas Quintana, Brittany Quintana, Taylor Scheller, Hayley Scheller, Bradlee Scheller,, Abigail Clanton and Hayden Clanton and great great grandchildren, Aarron Rodriquez and Emilee Quintana.
