Anna Fay Ogas, 80, of Hobbs, New Mexico passed into the loving arms of God on May 10, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at St. Helena Catholic Church with Father Ruben Romero as celebrant. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
Ann was born in Clifton, Texas on May 1, 1935 to Ethel and Paul Abbott. She lived in Texas for much of her young life and moved to Hobbs in the early 1950s. She worked for General Telephone & Electronics (GTE) until she retired in the early 1990s. Ann's focus in life was caring for her family and children. She could often be found in the kitchen, preparing meals for the family and singing. She loved music and discussing politics. Her signature song was "Crazy" by country singer Patsy Cline.
Ann was a devout Catholic and member of St. Helena's Parish. She regularly attended services there for over 50 years with her husband Richard Ogas.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents and her mentor and sister Hazel Hambright. She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 57 years Richard Ogas; her four children, Trina, Mona, Rita, and Rick; seven grandchildren, Trey, Chelsea, Kelley, Amber, Trystan, Sam, Sefton; five great grandchildren, Josiah, Aanielle, Brianna, Kaisa, and Bentley; brothers, Leon and Wayne Abbott and her beloved extended family.
The Ogas family thanks those who offered support and love as Ann struggled with illness during her final days before passing to heaven. Ann's enormous heart and fiery gentleness will be immensely missed by her friends and family.
