Annie Wormly

Annie Mae Wormly, 78, of Hobbs, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 in Hobbs. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Cook, officiating. The family will receive friends from 57 PM, Friday, July 5th at Griffin Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wormly was born on January 11, 1935 in Crockett, TX to Joe and Ellen Johnson. She married Tommie Wormly on July 4, 1958 in Littlefield, TX and they celebrated over 54 years of wonderful marriage. They settled in Hobbs in 1973. Mrs. Wormly cooked and taught preschool at Washington Heights Nursery and retired after 26 years. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church and served on many auxiliaries until her health declined. Mrs. Wormly enjoyed cooking, sewing and talking about the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include her husband, Tommie Wormly daughters, Shellia Anderson and April Wormly sons, Roderick Wormly and Tommie Joe Wormly, Jr. sisters, Roberta Kelly and Ruby Weatherton brother, Winright Johnson 12 grandchildren 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
