Anthony Gomez

Anthony Ray Gomez, 28, of Hobbs passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 in Odessa, TX. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February 14, 2014 at Iglesia de Dios, 202 E. Skelly Street with Pastor Reyes, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Thursday at Griffin Funeral Home.

Anthony was born on November 1, 1985 in Hobbs, NM to Robert Gomez and Sally Jaquez. He grew up in Hobbs and enjoyed playing video games and playing soccer. Anthony had great sense of humor and loved being with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Chavez, Sr sister, Nia Nivette Chavez grandfather, Cecilio Chavez great grandfathers, Richard Jaquez and Salvador Mendoza great grandmother, Carmen Gutierrez aunt, Jessica Fernandez and uncle Juan Mendoza.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sally Chavez and Cesar Jacob grandparents, Mickey and Henry Gomez and Manuel and Maria Jaquez brothers, Richard J. Chavez, Jr., Adrian J. Chavez and Lawrence J. Chavez aunt, Kathy Padilla and husband, Jacob uncle, Joey Jaquez and wife, Patty and numerous extended family members.
