Arturo Estrello Sr.

Arturo C. Estrello Sr., known to all as “Papatulo” or “Don Arturo”, of Hobbs, was born June 4, 1939 to Juan Estrello and Elvira Corral in Chihuahua, Mexico. He entered into eternal paradise on April 12, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. He left this earth peacefully saying he was ready to ride the beautiful white horses in heaven. A home going celebration will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Victory Center, with visitation being held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11-4 p.m. at Griffin Funeral Home. Please be advised that mask are required at the Funeral Home.

Papatulo was a Man of God, who praised and loved God until his last breath. He was a hard worker and a businessman leading him into the food industry. Doing everything from running a food truck and owning their own restaurant known as “La Paloma Restaurant”.  Papatulo’s love for candy meant we would find candy hidden throughout the house. He loved dominos and although he lacked the ability to see the dominos he always won and took everyone’s money. He loved to joke around, had the best inside jokes and always kept people laughing. He gave everyone he came across a nickname. Papatulo always carried his wife’s guitar around for her as she performed and his love for music pushed his son to become a saxophone player.  He loved nothing more than spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. Papatulo was the #1 Estrello and the Rock of the Family.  His big heart, loving presence & sense of humor will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. He was one of a kind.

Meeting him at Heaven’s Gate is his son Sergio Estrello Sr. and his parents, Juan and Elvira.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 64 years and life companion Elda Estrello.  2 children Arturo Estrello Jr. and Elida Juarez. Brothers Juan Estrello, Alvaro Estrello, Hector Estrello, Victor Estrello and sisters Katy Estrello and Lilia Morales.  Grandchildren Luis Estrello, Rene Juarez, Mireya Estrello, Noemi Estrello, Laura Davis, Sergio Estrello Jr., and Marcos Estrello. 11 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
