Barbara Estelle McAdams passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Sunday, November 9, 2014 in Euless, TX. Graveside services will be 11:30 AM, Saturday, November 15, 2014 in Prairie Haven Cemetery with Pastor John Ayers, officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 11:00 AM at Griffin Funeral Home.

Barbara was born on March 23, 1919 in Electra, Texas to Grace and Samuel Andrews. She grew up and received her education in Olney, TX. Barbara worked in the restaurant business for many years starting in Dallas, TX before moving to Hobbs. She married the love of her life, Harry McAdams in 1976 and they celebrated over 31 wonderful years together until his death in 2008. It was important to her to be involved in civic organizations. She was a member of the American Business Women Association, the Business and Professional Women of Hobbs, Hobbs Women Civic Club, Eastern Star 56 and the Lea County Democratic Women Association. Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Jerry Ripley, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Jo Ann Ward and special soninlaw Keith Ward of Euless, TX stepson, James McAdams and his wife of San Pedro, CA stepdaughter, Diane L. Gladow and her husband of Emporia, KS brothers, Denman Andrews and Harold Andews sister, Ernestine Locklin and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
