Benny Cox

Benny Earl Cox, 66, of Hobbs, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 in Hobbs. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 12, 2016 at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Willis Lee Evans, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00-7:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home.

Benny was born on March 23, 1949 in Hobbs, NM to O.C. Cox and Ada Mae Tatum. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Benny worked as a landscaper and groundskeeper. He was a very giving person and always helped everyone. Benny always had a smile on his face. He loved being with his family. Benny was preceded in death by his father, O.C. Cox and brother, Charles Tatum.

Survivors include his wife, Heriseon Cox of Hobbs; mother, Ada Mae Tatum of Hobbs; daughters, Janice Thomas of Austin, TX, Paris Thomas of Hobbs, Dana Thomas of Portland, OR and Sandra Thomas of Hobbs; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
