Betty Hancock, 74, of Hobbs, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 in Hobbs. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Gaines County Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday the 8th at Griffin Funeral Home.

Betty was born on December 2, 1940 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Calvin and Elvie Gothard. She married S.J. Bryan in 1958 and from that marriage they had Jerry and Terry Bryan. She later married Buddy Hancock and from that marriage they had Brenda and Scott Hancock. Betty loved taking care of her family. When the state line began selling scratch-off lottery tickets, she was always the first in line to buy her tickets. Betty continued to play the scratch-off tickets until the time of her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Brenda Hancock; stepfather, George Funk and dear friend, Levi Strauss.

Survivors include sons, Jerry Bryan and his wife, Diane, Terry Bryan and his wife, Bethalene and Scott Hancock and his wife, Kristi; brothers, Jack Gothard and his wife, Mickey and Fred Gothard and his wife, Lavonne; grandchildren, Jeremy Bryan, Justin Bryan, DeLana Maypole, La Tosha Bryan-Jenkins, Samantha Hancock and Cody Hancock and many great grandchildren.
