Bob Pyburn, 73, of Hobbs, passed away, Monday, June 5, 2017 in Hobbs. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 8, 2017 in Lovington Cemetery, Lovington, NM. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:00 am -7:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00-7:00 pm at Griffin Funeral Home.
Bob was born on November 7, 1943 in Morton, Texas to Kenneth and Bertile Pyburn. He obeyed the Gospel and was baptized in August 1955 at the Church of Christ in Maple, Texas. Bob worked as an operator for Clarke Well Service for many years; went back to school and received an associate degree in Applied Science-Autocad Drafting. He worked as a draftsman for Jim Koontz and Associates until his retirement. Bob met Becky Smith in 1989 in Hobbs and were together for over 27 wonderful years. They loved fishing and spent a lot of time on Texas lakes.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his longtime companion, Becky Smith of the home; son, Mike Pyburn of Ruidoso, NM; Rebecca's daughter, Sherrie Smith and her husband, John Hartline of Lubbock, TX; brother, Jim Pyburn of Frisco, TX; sister, Madge Pyburn Parsons of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Tracy Naugle, Jacob Pyburn and Jocelyn Gregory; 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many fishing buddies.
