Carmen Queen

Carmen Queen was born on June 14, 1947, to her parents Maximiniano “Mike” Zepeda and Carmen Rodriguez. She was born in Brownsville, Texas and lived in Lovington, New Mexico for 62 years. She passed on February 6, 2024 in Odessa, Texas.

Carmen was a CNA for 30-40 years and worked at Llano Estacado Hospital for 14 years. She attended the New Mexico Community College. Where she took art classes. Some of her hobbies included playing bingo, singing in the car, she loved Spanish and country music, baking from scratch and morning coffee. She enjoyed prayer time, gardening as well as making home remedies, but her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family. Carmen had so much love to give she adopted children and always did her best to make them feel loved and welcomed. She would go on fishing trips with them and even had hand made fishing poles for them. They were her strength to help her fight for her health as well as a morning and night prayer from her bible. She loved her family more than anything and they loved her back just as much. 

Carmen is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Jim Queen, her grandson Brandon Garcia, three brothers and a sister. She is survived by her sons Henry Garcia, Clyde Garcia, Ricky Garcia, and Mark Queen, six daughters Deyana Diaz, Yolanda Martinez, Debbie Garcia, Laura Queen, Amber Queen, Irene Deleon, Mary Brewer, five brothers Mike Zepeda, Roy Zepeda, Jesus Zepeda, Manual Zepeda, Rudy Zepeda, two sisters Mary Chavez, Rosa Mavvit and 18 grandchildren as well as 25 great grandchildren.
