Carolyn Gay Miller, of Hobbs, passed away on January 22, 2023 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born October 30, 1941, in Rio Hondo, Texas to Ira and Rose Irwin, one of six children. A funeral service in her honor will be held on January 26, 2023, at Hobbs First Assembly at 11am. Family and friends are welcome to the church starting at 9am to pay their respects. Burial will follow services at Prairie Haven Cemetery.
Carolyn was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife and sister. She held the bonds of family close to her heart, next to her love of the Lord. Her faith guided her life, whether in bible study or assisting in the Ministry. Carolyn’s faith led her to be generous with her time and her aid to others. She also was a talented painter and avid collector of dolls. Her joy was in her family, with her husband of over 65 years and with her children. Carolyn’s fighting spirit, loving presence and generous nature will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Preceding her in passing are her parents, sisters Lee Ira Irwin Shed and Elaine Irwin, and son Ronnie Miller.
Left to treasure her memory are her beloved husband Jack H. Miller, children John (Rhonda) Miller, and Donna (Paul) Navarrete, siblings Joe Irwin, Wayne Irwin, Catherine Irwin Nunn, and Bonnie Irwin Finklea. She is also remembered by her eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
