Clyde Cowger

Clyde Denver Cowger, 79, passed away at home in Hobbs on February 4, 2019. Born in Diana, WV to Commodore and Bertie Cowger on February 8, 1939 one of 10 children, he moved to Hobbs as a young man for work. Clyde was always busy, whether he was spending time with his wonderful wife of 58 years, working on his various projects, playing the banjo, hunting or fishing there was always something going on. Above all things he was dedicated to his family. Spending time with his 6 children was a joy and continued to be a joy as he spent time with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Aunny (Barbara) Cowger, Clinton Cowger and Junior (Wilda) Cowger.
Left to honor and treasure his memory are his loving wife, Mary, his children Alice (Ervin) Bender, Charles (Patricia) Cowger, Jessica (Larry) James, Richard (Olivia) Cowger, David (Shannon) Cowger and Valerie Cowger, grandchildren; Billy and Jenny Bender, George and Matthew James, Channel, Aric, Brenden and Ava Cowger, Mary and Brandon Morales, Johanna and Amber Cowger, Joshua and Samuel Cowger and Oly Sturdervant as well as 13 great-grandchildren and his pet dog Rover. He is also survived by siblings Doy (Ruby) Cowger, Kenny (Darlene) Cowger, Connie (Janet) Cowger, Clara (Ross) Payne, Carol (Mike) Brown, Vela (Junior) Brown and Sue Debarr. Clyde will forever be a treasured part of our family.
