Concepcion Dominguez

Concepcion Maria (Pando) Dominguez, age 87, of Jal, New Mexico passed away quietly in her sleep on November 7, 2022, in Hobbs, NM. In the last two years Mom endured many health issues, the most challenging of which was cancer. She most appreciated the caregivers that assisted in her care. In the end we are comforted as a family to know her pain is gone and she’s resting in peace.

She was born Wednesday, January 30, 1935, Shafter, Texas to Alfredo Sr. and Atilana (Aranda) Pando of Kermit, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Abelardo Pando, Alberto Pando, and Alonzo Pando sisters Yolanda Carrasco, Josephina Pena all from Kermit, TX and Frances Nave of Andrews, TX., and infant children Patricio and Connie Dominguez.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 70 years, Nicolas Dominguez, Sr. of Hobbs, NM, three sons: Sam Dominguez, of Carlsbad, NM, Dan Dominguez of Denton, TX and wife Minga and Nick Dominguez of El Paso, TX; four daughters: Ruby and husband Ruben Zamora of Hobbs, Sonia Dominguez and Lindell Owens of Hobbs, NM, Dora Dominguez and husband John Cordova of Albuquerque and Yolanda Dominguez of Albuquerque; two brothers: Amador Pando of Andrews, TX and Alfredo Pando, Jr. of Kermit, TX; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Concepcion’s point of pride was being mom. She was a long-time resident of Jal, NM and enjoyed time spent working for the school cafeteria and as a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. In Jal, she cared for her own children and was a longtime babysitter for Freddy Seifts of Jal and Jennifer Gonzales (Seifts) of Portales, NM. She was the best grandmother and will be remembered for her kindness and willingness to teach, laugh and care for her children and grandchildren.
