Coy Gassaway went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 12th, at the age of 57. He was living in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Coy was born on March 8th, 1963 in Pecos, Texas to Sandra Stone Gassaway and Tony Gassaway. His grandparents were Dr Coy Stone and Marie Stone, and Ruby Lee Gassaway.
Coy grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico, and graduated from Hobbs Highschool. He enjoyed playing the guitar, riding motorcycles, traveling with his grandparents, going to the mountains, spending time with his family, and hanging out with his friends. He owned a carpet cleaning business that he started after high school. Later on, Coy sold that business and went to Baylor University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in marketing and management.
Over the years, Coy worked as a manager at Kmart, Fiesta Supermarket in Lubbock, Texas, and Best Brands Plus in Alamosa Colorado. He recently worked at Apache Sales doing inside sales.
He attended Taylor Memorial Baptist Church.
Coy is survived by his mom, Sandra Gassaway, his siblings Toni Gassaway Denzer, Carey Gassaway, Greg Gassaway, and Mindy Gassaway Ricketts. His 2 nephews Keaton Stone Denzer and Dax Ricketts, his 5 nieces Avery, Brooke, and Chloe Ricketts, and Chandler and Braxton Gassaway.
His closest friends are Gary Eifert, David Scott, and Jay Cantu, all who meant so much to him.
Coy is preceded in death by his father Tony Gassaway, grandparents Dr. Coy Stone, Marie Stone, and Ruby Lee Gassaway, his aunt and uncle Flora Mae and Cecil Reed, a his aunt Vera Hood and cousin Homalou Hood, his uncle Dr. Bill Stone, and his niece Elin Ricketts.
The funeral will be held at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church in Hobbs, New Mexico on February 1st, 2021 at 10am. With Greg Gassaway, Carey Gassaway, Keaton Denzer , Jeff Denzer, Brett Barton, Steven Stone, Jay Cantu and Gary Eifert acting as pallbearers.
Graveside service will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.

Coy will be greatly missed by so many. We will always carry his memory in our hearts until we are reunited with him in Heaven.
