Creed Cox

Services for Creed Edward Cox, age 93, of Temple, Texas and formerly
of Hobbs will be held 9:30 AM, Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Griffin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Army.

Creed passed away Thursday at the William R. Courtney Veterans
Nursing Home in Temple after a short illness. He was born to Andy
Daisy Cox in Rolf, OK in 1920. He was the 3rd of 7 children. He married
Juanice Irene Peck and they were married for 63 years. She preceded him in
death in 2003. He was a farmer, a rancher and later an oil field rig manager
for Moranco Oil Co. retiring in 1983. He proudly served in the Army
Airforce during WWII in the Pacific Islands. He loved hunting fishing
and teaching others to fish. He was a Baptist and was baptized in a creek as
a child.

He is survived by his children, Creed Eddie Cox, Jr, of Belton, TX, Kaye Hopper
of Las Cruces, NM, Judy Fuentes of Amarillo, TX and Phillip Cox of Lubbock, TX, six grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren and 2 sisters, Nelda Cooper and
Hazel Parkey of OK. He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 grandchildren.
