Cruz Cabezuela Luján, amado esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo, falleció el viernes 31 de enero de 2025 en Hobbs, Nuevo México, a la edad de 86 años. Cruz nació el 3 de mayo de 1938 en Coyame, Chihuahua, México, hijo de Basilia Luján Cabezuela y José Antonio Luján Gamboa. 

Su profundo amor por la música lo llevó a convertirse en un talentoso trompetista en el Mariachi Los Dorados y grupo Los Coyotes de Coyame, mejor conocidos como Los Apenitas. Además de su pasión por la música de mariachi, disfrutaba pasar tiempo al aire libre, especialmente en la caza de venados. También le encantaba jugar a las cartas y al dominó, y nunca perdía la oportunidad de celebrar la vida con familiares y amigos. 

El 10 de agosto de 1955, Cruz se casó con el amor de su vida, Jesús Prieto Luján. Su matrimonio de casi 70 años sentó las bases de una hermosa familia que ahora abarca cuatro generaciones. 

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Basilia y José Luján; sus hermanos, Genoveva, José, Enedina, Tomás, Alfredo y Antonio Luján; y su yerno, Saúl Aranda. 

A Cruz le sobreviven su devota esposa, Jesús Prieto Luján; sus hijos: Javier Luján, Basilia y José Rodríguez, Alfredo y Olga Luján, Yolanda y Misael Macías, Pilar y Angie Luján, Ramón y María Luján, y Elia (Saúl) Aranda. También le sobreviven sus hermanos, Francisca Baeza y Jesús Luján; quince nietos; veinte bisnietos; y muchos sobrinos, primos y amigos cercanos que siempre apreciarán su memoria. 

Se llevará a cabo la visitación en su honor, el miércoles 5 de febrero, de 11am-8pm y jueves 6 de febrero del 2025, de 10am-5pm en Griffin Funeral Home.

 Servicio de funeral se llevara a cabo el viernes 7 de febrero del 2025 en la iglesia Our Lady Guadalupe en Hobbs, Nuevo México, a las 11:00am, seguido por el entierro en Prairie Haven Memorial Park.


Cruz Cabezuela Lujan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Hobbs, New Mexico, at the age of 86. Cruz was born on May 3, 1938, in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Basilia Lujan Cabezuela and Jose Antonio Lujan Gamboa. 

His deep love for music led him to become a talented trumpet player in Mariachi Los Dorados and Los Coyotes de Coyame, better known as Los Apenitas. His passion for mariachi music was matched by his love for the outdoors, where he found joy in deer hunting. He also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes and never missed an opportunity to celebrate life with family and friends. 

On August 10, 1955, Cruz married the love of his life, Jesus Prieto Lujan. Their nearly 70-year marriage laid the foundation for a beautiful family that now spans four generations. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Basilia and Jose Lujan; his siblings, Genoveva, Jose, Enedina, Tomas, Alfredo, and Antonio Lujan; and his son-in-law, Saul Aranda. 

Cruz is survived by his devoted wife, Jesus Prieto Lujan; their children: Javier Lujan, Basilia and Jose Rodriguez, Alfredo and Olga Lujan, Yolanda and Misael Macias, Pilar and Angie Lujan, Ramon and Maria Lujan, and Elia (Saul) Aranda. He is also survived by his siblings, Francisca Baeza and Jesus Lujan; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will forever cherish his memory.
