Curties Petties, 85, of Hobbs, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 27, 2016 at Jehovah's Witness-Kingdom Hall with Elder Lorenzo Camacho, officiating.
Curties was born on April 5, 1931 in Scottsville, Texas to James and Ella Mae Sterling. He served his country in the United States Army. Curties married Pearl Conner on November 8, 1950 in Lovington, NM and they celebrated over 64 wonderful years of marriage. He retired from Kerr-McGee after working 24 years as a welder. Curties enjoyed fishing and being with his family. He was a member of Kingdom Hall and was baptized 43 years ago. Curties was a man of strong faith and he loved sharing his faith door to door. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother and 1 sister.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Petties of the home; daughter, Brenda Petties of Gilbert, AZ; son, Kenneth Petties of Mesa, AZ; brothers, James Petties of Hobbs and Claud Brooks of Ohio; grandchildren, Janneh Petties of Dallas, Kidada Petties of Dallas and Kyle Martin-Petties of Phoenix and a host of nieces and nephews.
