Daniel Horton

Daniel Wesley Horton, 37, of Hobbs, NM, passed away on March 5, 2015, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Northside Baptist Church/Crosswinds Community Church with Brad Reimers, officiating. Burial will follow in the Teague Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday the 8th at Griffin Funeral Home.

Dan was born in Seminole, TX to Jim and Frances Horton on September 20, 1977. He attended Hobbs High School, graduating in 1996. Dan married April Gragson, on April 24, 1999 in Canyon, TX. He was a "bit man" for Smith Bits International for 8 years. Dan is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ivan and Louise Horton and his maternal grandparents, Roy and Betty Kirk.

Dan is survived by his wife of 15 years, April Horton, and their two children, Weston and Rebecca Horton, all of Midland, TX; two brothers, Chris Horton, and his wife, Janice, of Lubbock, TX and Nick Horton, and his wife, Shelly, of Hobbs, NM and Dan's parents, Jim and Frances Horton of Hobbs, NM. He is also survived by multiple cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Barry Seeker, Michael Ledford, Mark Hunter, Ryan McCormick, Dave Gauntt, Zach Reynolds, Greg Cox, Tedo Boyce.

The family would like to thank Dr. Smith, Joe Arrington Cancer Center, and Home Hospice, for all of the loving care that was extended to Dan during his battle with brain cancer. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family asks that donations be made to Home Hospice of Midland or CASA of West Texas. Services are under the arrangement of Griffin Funeral Home.
