Darell Johnson

Darell Johnson, 55, of Hobbs, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Hobbs. Mass of Christian Burial will be 3:00 PM, Thursday December 15, 2016 at St. Helena Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Wednesday at Griffin Funeral Home.

Darell was born on June 21, 1961 in Hobbs to DeWayne and Dolly Johnson. He graduated from Hobbs High School and received an Engineering degree from New Mexico Junior College. Darell enjoyed bowling and softball. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Darell was preceded in death by his father, DeWayne Johnson; grandparents, Beatrice and Grover Waddle and George William Webster and Nellie Lee Johnson and nephews, Patrick and Jeremy Newell.

Survivors include his mother, Dolly Johnson of Hobbs; daughters, Ashley Johnson of Hobbs, Michelle DeLeon and husband, Robert of Hobbs; sons, Brandon Johnson and wife, Alisha of Hobbs and Kyle Johnson of Hobbs; grandchildren, Eddie Soto, Joanthan Soto, Justin DeLeon, Alyssa Johnson, Elena DeLeon and Leah DeLeon; sister, Sharon Johnson; brothers, Ronnie Johnson and wife, Wendy; nephews, Jousha "J.J." Johnson and Justin Johnson; nieces, Amanda Hall, Hannah Newell, Pamela Johnson, Kristen Weathers and Penny Mead and longtime friends and mother of his children, Cherri Ann Gibbs and Tina Marie Webb.
