David E. Soto was born to Ed (Bolo) Soto and Antonia (Toni) Soto in Denver City, Texas on July 17, 1968. A Resident of Hobbs, New Mexico, David passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the age of 50. Member of the Hobbs Cycling Club, David was an avid cyclist, hunter and triathlete whom had recently completed the Baton Death March Marathon. He chartered the cycling at New Mexico State to form Zia Velo, now a major cycling team in the college. David was also a Youth Pastor and Minister for Victory Outreach. He was also the 1st Hispanic Chaplain of the state of Arizona and was invited to attend the Prayer Breakfast under the Bush Administration.
David was preceded in death by brother, Jimmy Soto; father-in-law, Manuel Mendez and his dog Cyrus "Him Daddy". He is survived by his loving wife, Monica M. Soto; parents, Ed and Toni Soto; sister-in-law, Bernice Soto; nephews: Aaron, Jimmy and Julien Soto; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. David selflessly touched the lives of others and was a loving compassionate friend to all he knew and was loved by many. He was a true man of God, the personification of the love of Christ to everyone he knew.
