David Vela

David Vela, of Andrews, Texas, went home with the lord on Christmas Day, 2021. He was born the oldest of 4 children to Cristano and Delia Vela in Levelland, Texas. A funeral service in his honor will be held on December 30, 2021 at The Christian Center in Hobbs, New Mexico at 2pm. Family and friends are welcome to come to the church starting at 12pm to pay their respects. Burial will follow services at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. David was a happy and loving person, who loved above all things his family and the Dallas Cowboys. His pride and joy were his children, his wife and in his later years, his grandchildren. David had a free spirit, and you never knew what he would get up to next, whether he was going fishing, for a drive through the countryside or dancing to the music. No matter what he was doing he did, he did it with a smile. David will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

He is preceded in passing by his parents Cristano and Delia and by one son.

Left to treasure his memory are his wife of over 24 years Rosabel Castillo, children Jason Vela, Lindsay Vela and Jaime Garcia. Sisters Lily Irion, Linda Vela, and Becky Puente. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and too many friends to count.
