Davis Duane White, age 77, of Magnolia, AR and formerly of Hobbs, NM, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, TX. He was born in Linden, Texas on August 2, 1935 to Fred Davis and Walta Nell Liner White.
Davis grew up and graduated high school in Borger, TX. He married Margaret Laveca Ritchie and shortly thereafter was drafted into the U.S. Army and spent much of his deployment in Germany. Davis worked in the Oil Fields of Texas and New Mexico and retired as a supervisor for a well service company. Davis taught his children to play and love music. He loved to entertain with his familys country and gospel group in the 70s and 80s. He was a dedicated family man who was always happiest when he was telling a joke, telling a story about his grandkids or pulling a prank on someone.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Margaret Laveca Ritchie White.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Lonnie White and wife, Pam of Magnolia, AR Michael White of Magnolia, AR Karen Wilson and husband, Mike of Hobbs, NM, two sisters, Barbara Thomas and husband, Bill of Amarillo, TX Polly Wheless and husband, Wayne of Borger, TX six grandchildren, Nicki Stultz and husband, Brad of Magnolia, AR Neil White of Cabot, AR Ryan Miller, Brette Miller, Cole Wilson and Colin Wilson all of Hobbs, NM three great grandchildren, Bailey Stultz, Morgan White and Brooke Stultz, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 68 PM at Griffin Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Prairie Haven Memorial Park with Pastor LaVoid Ford officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army. Services are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
