Eddie Bickley

Eddie Joe Bickley was born on July 18, 1940 in Pecos, TX to Joe Edward and Opal (Hackney) Bickley. His family moved to Hobbs in 1942 and he graduated from Hobbs High School in 1958. Eddie attended Eastern New Mexico University and graduated 1963 with a Bachelor's degree in Geography and a minor in Geology. He served his country in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington until his honorable discharge in 1965.

Eddie married Lorene Howell on December 19, 1969 and they raised two wonderful children, Kendall Joe Bickley and Lori Allison Bickley. He worked as a surveyor for Texico; worked for Climax Chemical and in 1979 worked for Gulf Oil Co./Chevron where he retired after 20 years. Eddie loved to tell stories; had a lively interest in national and world events; loved all sports and enjoyed selling pocket knives in front of his home. He will always be remembered for his warm smile; his love for his family and his willingness to help others.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Lorene Bickley; son, Kendall Bickley, (Melissa); daughter, Lori Bickley; grandchildren, Allison Foster, (Jarrod) and Rozlynn and Ryland Ramsey and great granddaughter, Brooklyn Foster.

Eddie went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 9:30 am, Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday the 24th from
9 am - 7 pm with the family receiving friends from 5-7 pm at Griffin Funeral Home.
