Elida Ponce Meza, 59 loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Las Cruses, New Mexico. Elida was born to Jose Ponce and Maria Gamboa on July 6,1962 in Cuauhtémoc Chihuahua, Mexico. Elida was a homemaker; she loved her family very much. She loved to spend time with them, providing for them. Listening to their stories and giving the best advice when needed. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and playing games with them. Elida was so good with her grandkids, and her love will carry on through them. Elida also loved to travel. She liked to go to Mexico and to the mountains. She had a fondness for elephants and loved trees.

Elida was proceeded in death by her mother Maria and her son Jose Meza.

Left to cherish her memory and carry her legacy forward are her loving husband Rigoberto Meza, Son Omar Meza, Daughter Flor Garcia, 2 Granddaughters, and 3 Grandsons, and her Brothers Sergio Ponce, Raymundo Ponce, and Robert Ponce.

Rosary will be held at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel 401 N. Dalmont Street Hobbs, NM Thursday January 6, 2022 at 6:00 PM. Catholic Mass will be held at St. Helena Catholic Church 100 E Bender Blvd Hobbs, NM Friday January 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Internment to follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
