Emigdio Terrazas Montano

Emigdio Montano, 74, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023. Services are scheduled for Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:00am at Eben-Ezer Apostolic Assembly, 1924 E Oak St here in Hobbs. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 4:00pm till 8:00pm.   

Emigdio was born on October 5, 1949, in Cerro Prieto, Chihuahua, Mexico to Isidro Montano and Concepcion Terrazes. Emigdio was a God-fearing man who loved spending time outdoors. It didn’t matter what he was doing, whether hunting, fishing or gardening, he loved being outside under the sun. He was a loving father and grandfather and loved spending time with his loved ones. Emigdio came to the United States when he was 14 years old and found his passion for welding. Inspired by the late Bill Parms he pursued and learned the craft and became a welder. Soon after, through guidance and direction from his longtime friend Leo Sotomayor he opened up his own company E & B Welding. Emigdio spent the last three decades pursuing his passion for welding and loving his family.

Emigdio was preceded in death by his parents, Isidro and Concepcion Montano and two brothers, Angel and Isidro Montano, Jr.

Emigdio is survived by his longtime partner, Yolanda Baeza; his four children, Daniel Montano (Juan Hernandez Montano), Esmerelda Lozano (Juan Lozano), Jessica Soqui Montano (Alejandro Soqui) and Ulises Montano (Ashley Montano). His three siblings, Manuela Silva, Gabriel Montano and Guadalupe Montano. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Elaine, Juan, Betty, Joselyn, Gabriel, Emma, Kevin and Alexa. Emigdio is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
