Ethel Flenniken

Ethel Flenniken, 90, of Hobbs, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 16, 2015 at Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor John Ayers, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday the 15th from 9:00 AM-7:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home.

Ethel was born on March 5, 1924 in Vowells Mill, Louisiana to George and Rilda Slaughter. She married Vernon Flenniken on November 27, 1946 and they celebrated over 42 wonderful years of marriage until his death in 1989. Ethel enjoyed sewing, embroidery and working crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Joyce Woods; sons, Mike Flenniken, Roger Flenniken, Gary Flenniken, Garland Flenniken, Jim Flenniken and Ernest Garrett; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
