Felipe Ortega

Felipe “Mark” Ortega passed from this life to the next on October 29, 2020 in Midland, Texas. He was born on August 16, 1972 to Refugo Ortega and Evangelina Martinez in Hobbs, New Mexico. A memorial service in his honor will be held 1pm, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Griffin Funeral Home.

Mark at his heart was a family man, no matter what else was happening family always came first. His children, and later grandchildren, were the light of his world. Nothing gave him greater joy then to spend time with those he cared about. He worked hard in the oil fields to provide a good life for his children. An old school kind of guy, Mark loved classic cars, fishing and oldies music. His perpetually smiling face will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

Preceding him in passing are his parents, one son Felipe Marcos Ortega, sister Rebecca Ortega, uncles Juan B. Ramirez, Cipranio Martinez, Reynaldo Ortega, and aunts Aortencia Quiroz and Francis Ortega .

Left to always remember him are his remaining children Rey, Mario Miguel and Karey Marie Ortega, grandchildren Santiago O., Jordi Miguel, Justo Ivan and Azurii Nevaeh Ortega. He is also survived by siblings Kristina Owens, Luis Ortega, Refugio K. Ortega, Lisa O. Vasquez, Ray Ortega and Sandra Ortega, as well as a host of extended family, friends and coworkers.
