Francisca Hernandez

Francisca Hernandez, 86 of Hobbs, NM was born November 3, 1933 in Thrall, TX to Frank and Isabel Alaniz. She was called home on September 1, 2020 while surrounded by family. Francisca married Alberto Hernandez in Sinton, TX on December 31, 1950. They migrated to the area in 1955 as they followed the seasonal crops. They planted roots and eventually made Hobbs their home, where they raised 10 children.

She dedicated her life as a faithful catholic being a devoted wife and known as “Mom” to all, she loved being surrounded by family and friends. Francisca enjoyed working in the yard and sewing, as well as cooking for her family. As an active member of St Helena Church she participated in various church organizations throughout her life. She was an exceptional woman, known for her strong work ethics, devotion for her faith, church and the love for her family.

She is survived by her son, Reynaldo Hernandez of Midland, TX, Albert (Cecilia) Hernandez of San Angelo, TX; daughters: Diana and Delia Hernandez of Hobbs, NM, Joey Bejar of Las Cruces, Adrian Fields and Sasha Bejar of Hobbs, NM. Siblings include sister Mary Jane of Lubbock, TX, Manuel Alaniz of Phoenix, AZ and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Francisca is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Isabel Alaniz; beloved husband, Alberto Hernandez and her loving children: Isabel, Roberto, Larry and Christopher Hernandez, Rosemarie Bejar and Anna Valdez.

Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 PM, Monday, September 7, 2020 at Griffin Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM after Visitation at St. Helena Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at St. Helena Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Please be aware that face masks and social distancing is mandatory.
