Georgia Jordan, 66, of Hobbs, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 in Lubbock, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, CST on Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Monahans Memorial Cemetery in Monahans, Texas with Pastor Dale Shook, officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday from 5:00-6:30 pm at Griffin Funeral Home.
Georgia was born on September 3, 1949 in Monahans, Texas to Leroy and Sylvia Payne. She was the oldest of three girls and took the role of big sister to heart, protecting them as they grew up. Georgia married Gary Jordan and they celebrated over 45 years of wonderful marriage. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from College of the Southwest. Georgia worked as the Director of Parents Anonymous and as the Special Services Coordinator at New Mexico Junior College. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and astronomy. Georgia was a volunteer for the Red Cross and was a weather spotter. Her calling in life was to help people; a special caretaker to all. She loved life and loved sharing it with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Jordan of the home; daughter, Leigh Brown and husband, Bryan of Weatherford, TX; sisters, Cindy Payne Dunn of Carlsbad and Cecelia Payne of Cleburne, TX; grandchildren, Adrien (Addie) Brown and Joshua (Binky) Brown; sisters-in-law, Vicki Kirkes and Deborah Skipwith; nieces, Alyssa Dunn Schore and Linda Taylor and nephews, Shayne Stevens, Cody Stevens, Aaron Dunn, Bart Frintz and Justin Frintz.
