Glen Raines

Glen Raines, 94, of Hobbs, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Griffin Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, from 12:00-7:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home.

Glen was born on November 19, 1922 in Llano, Texas to Arthur and Alsa Raines. He served his country in the United States Army Air Force during WWII. Glen married June Cheek in 1942 and celebrated over 69 wonderful years of marriage until her death in 2011. He was a barber for 68 years working at C&G Barbershop and then owning Raines Barbershop. Glen loved to fish and hunt.

Survivors include his daughters, Betty Barnett and Darlene Hicks (Buck), both of Hobbs; son, Dennis Raines (Pat) of Hobbs; brothers, Don Raines (Katherine) and Jessie Raines; grandchildren, Jeff Raines (Joy), Joe Raines (Von), Denny Ray Raines, Chris Jackson (Kelly), Trista Glover (Benny), Heather Harris (Gary); numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and his very special friend, Wilma Wilson. Glen was preceded in death by his wife, June and his son, Winford Raines, Jr.
