Heather Payne

Heather Dodson Payne, of Hobbs, passed from this life too soon in Odessa, Texas at the age of fifty. A funeral service in her honor will be held on Wednesday, October 5 at 11am at Griffin Funeral Home. Family and friends are welcome on Tuesday from 4-7pm at Griffin to pay their respects.

Heather was born July 2, 1972 to Tommye Dodson and Mary Lou Dorman here in Hobbs. A local girl through and through Heather lived in Hobbs her entire life. Growing up with her brother Tom Tom, she grew into a strong and caring women, but with very little patience or tolerance for shenanigans. Heather was also a savvy business woman, during the prime of her career she owned several rental properties and was incredibly successful in real estate. Through the later part of her life she did struggle with her personal demons, but was always there to take care of her life partner Glen. She will be deeply missed by all those who love her.

Preceding her in passing are her parents, Mary Lou Dorman and Tommye Dodson Sr., grandparents Jeff and Betty Dorman and one uncle.

Left to treasure her memory always are her husband Glen Payne, son Cody Glen Payne (Allyson), daughter Tori Renee Dodson, brother Tom Tom Dodson, grandchildren Bentley, Cooper, Emma, and her lifelong friends Kelly Hill, Mechelle Radcliff and Loretta Ortega.
