Irma Dawkins

Irma M. Dawkins, of Seminole, Texas, passed into God’s hands on March 22,2022 in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 59. A Funeral mass in her honor will be held 11am on Tuesday April 5, 2022 at St. Helena Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to Griffin Funeral Home on Monday, April 4 from 11am-7pm for visiting hours, with a rosary to be recited at 6pm.

Irma was born on June 15, 1962, in Eunice, New Mexico to Ricardo and Socorro Martinez, one of 12 children. She was raised as a kind and loving woman, who became the foundation her family depended on. Irma loved her family, helping raise several of her nieces and nephews as well as being Godmother to numerous children. She married the love of her life, Steven, and spent a total of 31 years with him, raising their son. She was a fantastic listener and caregiver, always going above and beyond for people. Irma also had a passion for crafting. She loved scrapbooking, and her family often joked they could open a store with the amount of craft supplies she had. Irma was a quick witted, kind woman who will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

Preceding her in passing are her parents, Ricardo and Socorro and her sisters Paula S. Gutierrez and Anna M, Zaragoza.

Left to treasure her memory always are her husband, Steven Dawkins, son Matthew Dawkins, siblings Roberto Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, Javier Martinez, Joaquin Martinez, Richard Martinez, Cornelio Martinez, Josefina Martinez, Martha Torrez, and Rosa Carrasco, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family who love her.
