Irma Hernandez

Irma G. Hernandez Olivas, of Hobbs, passed away on March 9, 2022, surrounded by those who love her. She was born on October 10, 1948, in Mexico to Manuel and Pilar Olivas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16th at 11am at Sendero De La Cruz with burial to follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Family and friends are welcome at Griffin Funeral Home on Monday from 12pm-7pm and on Tuesday from 10am-7pm.

Everything Irma did, she did it in the name of God. A loving faithful wife, sister, mother, and grandmother who loved to take care of and teach her family. Before she moved to the United States, she spent her time teaching the children from the surrounding  ranches; and worked as a nurse in the local hospital.  Irma was an excellent teacher, a skill she brought with her when she moved to raise her family. After relocating, she raised her family as a single mother until she remarried in ’91 to Jose Luis Beltran, who became her life partner and father to her children. After he passed Irma never remarried and remained faithful to his memory. This strong and elegant woman will be remembered by her son Jose Luis Hernandez, her siblings Adolfo Olivas, Salvador Olivas, Socorro Olivas, Rebecca Olivas, Dolores Olivas, and Blanca Olivas. As well as her nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends who love her.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Jose Luis Beltran, parents Manual and Pilar Olivas, sons Iram U. Hernandez and Manuel U. Hernandez, brothers Manuel and Trinidad Olivas, and sisters Aide and Elva Olivas.
