Irma Candelaria Valles

Our mother was called to come be with our Lord on March 8th at 3:40 in the afternoon. She was blessed to be surrounded by her family and friends when Jesus called. She will be missed, loved and remembered with the deepest of feeling and admiration for a wonderful mother, spouse and a strong woman of faith.
Irma was born on August 19, 1948, in El Paso Texas to Lorenzo and Graciela Candelaria. She is one of 7 children of a loving family. She graduated from BelAir High School in 1966. On December 4, 1971 she married, Erasmo Valles. They were blessed to have four children, Irma Valles Romero, married to Lonnie Romero from Hobbs, NM Erasmo Valles Jr, married to Sandra Trujillo Valles, from San Antonio, TX Ramon Valles, married to Josie Marin Valles from Hobbs, NM and Sylvia Torres married to Raul Torres from Kyle, TX. Irma retired from Walmart as a department manager after 23 year of service. She was a parishioner from Saint Helenas Catholic Church in Hobbs, NM. Irma was one of the luckiest persons to enter into the casino in Hobbs. She loved to play cards with family, spend time with her grandkids and devoted most of her time to selfless prayer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Graciela, her brother, Federico Candelaria and her grandson Christopher.
Irma is survived by her brothers and sisters, Elvia Zamora, Yolanda Chavez, Lorenzo Candelaria, Luis Daniel Candelaria, Cecilia Baca, her four children and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11 from 9:00 AM 5:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited 7:00 PM, at St. Helenas Catholic Church. Irma will be laid to rest 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 12, 2014 with Mass at St. Helenas Catholic Church, Father Juan Carlos Ramirez, celebrant. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
