James "Rocky" D. Jones

James “Rocky” D. Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and longtime resident of Hobbs, New Mexico, was born on June 7, 1952, in Roswell, New Mexico. To his parents James F. Jones and Nadeen L. Sallee. He passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the age of 72, in Lubbock, Texas.

James was married to Rosie Martha Garcia on February 18, 1976. Rosie was said to be the highlight of his life. They shared many beautiful memories and had just celebrated 49 years of matrimony together. James was also the companion of his beloved dog, Gracie II. He formed deep friendships over the years, and two of his closest friends, Linda Tuggle and Charlie Dutton, brought him great joy. James was an active member of the New Life Fellowship Church.

James will be remembered for his kind, loving, caring and humorous personality. His pride and joy were his family and being Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James is proceeded in death by his parents James F. Jones and Nadeen L. Sallee and his sister Janice.

He is survived by his spouse Rosie Jones, his son Jeremiah Jones, his three daughters Brenda Duran, Joanne Paige, Tammy Gonzales, many loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family is deeply grateful for the devoted care, kindness and prayers from his church family and friends. Rocky will forever be missed!
