James Petties

James Petties, 79, of Hobbs passed away at home on September 2, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Lane Chapel with Pastor Laron Fields officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-5 pm at Griffin Funeral Home.
James was born to Buster Petties and Ella Mae Sterling on March 10, 1939 in Rosebud, TX. He was a hardworking man who spent 35 years working for Phillips Oil before he retired. James like to fish when he had the time and loved to spend time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Curtis Petties and Lorenzo Bennett, sister Mary Lou Brooks and son James Petties, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Dawn René (Clarence) Fite of Eunice, NM, Michelle (Raymond) Lacey of Lubbock, TX, Kristal Petties Como of Oklahoma, Gloria (Mark) Smith of Hobbs, NM, Kevin (Maria) Petties of Hobbs, NM, and Allen Royal of Hobbs, NM. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous friends and other family who will miss him dearly.
