Jesus Cervantes, of Hobbs, passed into the arms of angels on January 3, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on December 24, 1965 in Falomir, Chihuahua, Mexico to Alfonso and Maria Elisa Cervantes, one of 7 children. Jesus was a dedicated family man, his wife, daughters and later grandchildren were the center of his life. He worked tirelessly as a welder for 30 years to provide for his family. Spending time with them, whether at home or on family vacations or at the racetrack was one of his many joys. Nothing was impossible to him, no matter what was needed he would find a way to get if for those he loved. This wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friends will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Left to treasure his memory is his beloved wife of 33 years, Aida Villalobos Cervantes, daughters Jessica (Juan) Granillo, Karina (Max) Sigala, Marissa (Anthony) Longoria and Bianca (Esteban) Sanchez, grandchildren Allyse, Alaya, Karyssa, Kaisley and Zaiden, mother and siblings Jorge Castillo, Juan Cervantes, Francisco Cervantes, Alfonso Cervantes, Elisa Cervantes and Anny Cervantes. He is also survived by a host of extended friends and family. He is preceded in passing by his father.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor on Friday January 8 at 12pm at Our lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Thursday January 7 at the New Hope Center in Hobbs from 10am-3pm.
