Joe Barela

Joe G. Barela, 53, left peacefully, Saturday, December 7, 2013 in Lubbock, TX. Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 21, 2013 St. Helena Catholic Church with Father Juan Carlos Ramirez as celebrant.

Joe was born on November 23, 1960 in Artesia, NM to Albert F. and Yolanda G. Barela. He was an over the road truck driver for the last 25 years. Joe loved being with his family and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert F. Barela nephew, Benjamin Keith Fernandez grandparents, Joe F. and Rosa Barela and Francisco V. and Maria R. Gomez.

He leaves behind a family that loves him and will miss him tremendously. Survivors include his wife, Candace Barela of Dallas daughters, Barbrey and Karmen Barela of Mobile, AL mother, Yolanda brothers, David and Albert Barela and sisters, Patricia Jaramillo and Cyndi Barela.
