Josefa Gutierrez (Velasquez), age 90 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at her home in the presence of her loving family. Josefa truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family, hobbies and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She leaves a legacy of four generations to carry on her values and traditions. Her memories will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she reached but never met. A devoted Catholic at Our Lady of Guadalupe. She was born September 18, 1929 in Big Spring, Texas to Anastacio Nunez and Petra Garcia. She is survived by two siblings Hector Nunez of Burlington, Colorado and Alicia Nunez of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband Cresencio Gutierrez (Velasquez) August 10, 1985; three grandsons, Nicholas Rangel, Raul Ramirez Jr, Noe Rangel Jr.; two great-granddaughters, Deanna Dnae Velasquez and Faith Guadalupe Espino and one son-in-law, Rick Ochs. She is survived by her children; Belen Velasquez, Maria I. (Ramiro) Guerra, Ruben (Maria) Velasquez, Petra (Guadalupe) Avila, Cresencio Velasquez Jr., Sylvia Velasquez Ochs, Lorenzo (Nellie) Velasquez, Norma (Oscar) Tarin, Maria G. (Hector) Javalera, Jorge (Francis) Velasquez, Maria De Jesus (Hector) Astorga, Veronica Velasquez, Jose (Norma) Velasquez, and Angelica V. Ramirez. Our beloved mother had the pleasure of surrounding herself with 56 grandchildren, 105 great grandchildren (WOW) and 15 great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will be truly missed by us all. (BIG MOM)
