Karen Rhoades

Karen Ruth Rhoades, of Hobbs, New Mexico, passed into the gates of heaven on October 27, 2022, at the age of 62. She was born on October 6, 1960, to Vernon Ennis Roberts and Ruth Ann Meyers Wright here in Hobbs.

Karen, above all other things, was a mom, and not just to her children but to everyone she knew. She always gave her love and support to those in need, whether that support came in the form of a quiet ear to listen, help with money or just a hug, she was there. Karen’s love was not limited to people, she was a fierce dog mom as well, having up to 7 dogs at one time! At the time of her passing she had two fur-babies, that she spoiled outrageously, cooking all the meals for them, and giving them options. Karen was immensely talented, she was an accomplished gardener, making wonderful things from the vegetables she grew. She made salsa, spaghetti, gumbo and so many other things all from scratch and using things she grew in her garden. She was so proud of what she grew and loved sharing with those she cared about. Karen was the very rock upon which her family stood, and her constant strength and support will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Karen is preceded in passing by her parents, Vernon Roberts, and Ruth Ann Wright.

Left to treasure the memories she left behind are her beloved husband Johnny, children Samantha and Jason, 5 grandchildren, brother Mike Roberts, sisters, Sue Worthy, and Kathy Roberts Tenner.
