Khara Owen

Khara DaLyn Owen of Hobbs, New Mexico, entered the kingdom of Heaven on September 11. 2021 at the age of 38. Khara was born to Madonna Johnson on August 3, 1983 in Hobbs. A memorial service in her honor will be held 4pm on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Griffin Funeral Home.

Khara loved helping people, always volunteering with the Salvation Army and different churches in the area. She was a helper at her core, and it didn’t matter if you were a stranger or one of her many friends, if she could help she would. Khara worked as a hairdresser and ran her own business “ Sweeties Custom Cups” making personalized glitter cups to support herself and her two girls. She also loved music, especially Elvis, motorcycles, and her work as a board member for the Farmers Market. Her loving and supportive spirit will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Khara is preceded in passing by her uncle Michael Cannon, her grandfather Delmar Moore of Hobbs, her great-grandparents Floyd and Ethel Moore of Hobbs.

Left to treasure her memory are her mother Madonna Johnson and stepfather SFC Chad Johnson, daughters Elena and LilyGene, sister Lora Hatfield and brother-in-law SFC John Hatfield nieces and nephew Hayden, Kenlei and Macy, grandmother Virginia Cannon and grandfather Forrest Beal. As well as to many friends to count.
