Lorene Brewer

Lorene Brewer, 102, of Hobbs passed away June 9, 2018. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Crosswinds Community Church with Pastor Brad Reimers, officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday the 18th, 9:00 am-7:00 pm at Griffin Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 4:00-6:00 pm.

Lorene was born on July 8, 1915 in De Kalb, Texas to Jack and Lula Finley. She married Walter Brewer on June 27, 1942 in New Boston, Texas and they celebrated over 36 years of wonderful marriage until his death in 1979. They moved to Hobbs in 1954 and she became involved in church and in many organizations. Lorene was a member of Crescent Rebekah #3, TOPS, Friendship Club; Second Wind and the Grandmother's Club. She enjoyed quilting and working with her hands and she loved making Valentine cards for everyone.

Lorene was also preceded in death by her parents; son Don Brewer; 10 brothers and one sister. Survivors include her daughters Elsie Hill and Mary Cofer (Dwight) both of Hobbs; grandchildren Joy Haynes, Lacy Hill, Holly Cofer and Alex Cofer; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; numerous loving nieces and nephews; her beloved pets, beagle Missy and her cat Socks and many loving friends.
