Louella Barnett

Louella Barnett, 88, of Hobbs, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Hobbs. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 24, 2015 in Prairie Haven Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Durfee, officiating.

Louella was born on October 29, 1926 in Beaver County, OK to James and Ella Ray. She married Ernest C. Barnett in 1946 in Oklahoma and they celebrated over 44 wonderful years of marriage until his death in 1990. They enjoyed being with friends and family at their summer home in Colorado. In Hobbs, she enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and flower garden. Louella was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother and she loved taking care of her family. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Guymon, OK and Highland Christian Church in Hobbs. Louella enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, James Barnett; daughter, Joy Lou Smith and 2 sisters.

Survivors include her son, Ernest Barnett of Hobbs; daughter-in-law, Betsy Barnett of Hobbs; grandchildren, Michael S. Barnett, Mitchell R. Barnett, Mindy Barnett, David Ray Smith, Clint Smith, Rene Smith, Willy Smith, Trista M. Barnett Glover (Benny) and Heather L. Barnett Harris (Gary) ; 19 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
