Lucy Reyes

Lucy Reyes, age 87, Hobbs, NM, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with the lord on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at her home in Hobbs.

She was born on November 16, 1931 in Clovis, New Mexico. She met and married the love of her life, Joe Reyes in 1955.  They were married for 64 years. One of her many loves besides her family, was hummingbirds which she fed for years, along with gardening, she had an amazing green thumb!

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Reyes, parents Benino and Delavina Garcia, two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter Liz Moquin and Phil Hetrick from Elizabethtown, PA, daughter Carol and Jim Rishe from Albuquerque, NM, son Jose and Elvia Reyes from Red Oak, TX, son Mike Reyes from Hobbs, NM, son Pete and Bobbie Reyes, from Hobbs, NM, son Patrick and Becky Reyes from Mesquite, TX, daughter Candy and Chris Nussbaumer from Irving, TX and son Alvin Reyes from Manassas, VA.   Along with sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  Our mother was a strong gracious woman who had a loving soul.  She will be deeply missed and not forgotten by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at St. Helena’s Catholic Church located at 100 E. Bender Blvd., Hobbs, NM from 11:30 AM-12:00 PM and Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens located at 2909 N. Dal Paso Street, Hobbs, NM.
