Margarita Moreno

Margarita Moreno, 70, of Hobbs, passed away, Saturday, January 2, 2016 in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, January 8, 2016 at Jefferson Street Church of Christ with Pastor Hermano Marin, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Haven Memorial Park. A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday the 7th at Griffin Funeral Home.

Margarita was born on October 16, 1945 in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico to Ramon and Guadalupe Herrera. She was an elegant, amazing, generous and unselfish woman. Margarita was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her family was her pride and joy. She was very strong willed and showed her unconditional love to everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Victoria Torres; brothers, Jesse Herrera and Manuel Herrera and sister, Mary Helen Maes.

Survivors include her husband, Jose Mendoza; children, Juanita Heckard, Jeff Valdez (Crucita Rodriguez), Jose Moreno (Eloisa) and Annette Valdez (Lupe Carmona); grandchildren, Sonya Cano, JR Cano, Crystal Islas, Christopher Valdez, Adrian Carmona, Eric Moreno, Adrian Torres, Hector Carmona, Cristina Moreno and Kaylee Carmona; great grandchildren, Esmeralda Cano, Israel Torres, Allisyn Perry, Mathew Matal, Vicente Islas, Victoria Carmona, Zaria Islas, Jeramiah Smith, Joe Moreno and Abraham Islas; siblings, Sister Yolanda Herrera, Ramon Herrera and Ismael Herrera and many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
