Maria Reinhart

Maria Antonia Reinhart, of Hobbs, passed away on January 30, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born October 8, 1945, in Laredo, Texas to Jose and Maria Pena. A funeral mass in her honor will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at St. Helena Catholic Church at 1pm, with burial to follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Family and friends are welcome at Griffin Funeral Home on Monday from 12pm-7pm and on Tuesday from 10am-7pm to visit and pay their respects. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 7 at 6pm.

Maria was a devoted wife, mother, sister grandmother and friend to so many. She loved fiercely and would do anything for her boys. She worked several jobs to help provide for her family, from waitress to co-owner of a restaurant.  Maria was a proud member of both the Eagles Lodge and the Knights of Columbus. She also greatly enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino, and when Maria had to watch football, the Philadelphia Eagles were her team of choice. Her loving and feisty spirit will be deeply missed by all those who love her.

Preceding her in passing are her parents, children Cristoval P. Urias, Edward Wayne Reinhart, Sr. and Juanita P. Urias, granddaughter Ashley Urias, and siblings Maria Pena, Helen P. Quiroz, Irene Ramirez, Perfecto Pena, David Pena, George Pena, Raymond Pena, Abraham Pena Sr. and Santos Pena Sr.

Remembering her always are her devoted husband Dennis, sons Samuel (Deana) Urias, Tomas (Cyndy) Urias and Reuben (Anna) Reinhart, siblings Martin Pena, Joe Pena, Francisco Pena, Sarah P. Lara and Sylvia P. Cruz. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren 23 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
